Helix

The things that we did not hear or see

Once took us far away

Now with the doors open

Grounded in the Moment

Entrenched in the Journey of Here and Now

Embarking far ahead

Towards the Promises that were once Tucked Away

Knowing became familiar

And each Day became Lighter

Every new dawn full of hope, laughter and Joy.

Dreams

Dreams

Northern Lights (photo credit given to http://fuckyeahnorthernlights.tumblr.com/post/38092318995)

Wondrous blue sky,

Floating above throughout the day

The keeper of our dreams,

Up, up and away

When the Night-time comes,

It holds all the tiny pieces that may,

One day light up our hearts

Bringing cherished wishes and hopes

Earthbound, here to stay

Forever is but a dream

But when it finally collides

The pieces from the dark sky night,

Touch the very moments of our lives

Feeding us with courage, hope and joy

To go in search of the path,

That can manifest our dreams,

In every single way

The Path Ahead

The Path Ahead

Magical Forest (photo copyright from http://www.pegor.com)

Anchored from a time before,

Rooted in the seeds of yesterday

 Tomorrow’s knowing

Stems from things of the Past

 Small Waves,

Grounding Us in the Truth

 What Lies ahead,

 Is ever Present

 Looking within,

Lights the path ahead.

Ascension

starry night sky

Ascension to another dimension

Floating in the sky,

Dark blue,

Then the other colors make their way too

Silent, standing air

Enveloping me in every way

This stillness

Speaks to me clearly

The message is infinite,

Eternal, untapped, released into this moment now

A familiar field from another time

Yet here in this space and time,

It all collides together

And I am the interpreter of these things

Dark night sky, salty ocean tide

Here is where the Past, Present and Future

Flow together as One

And for a Moment in time,

The silence magnifies us in Peace, Knowing and Stillness

And it is here where we collide and unite

Celebrating our Oneness

Offering a glimmer of Hope.

Guiding Light

Hibiscus in Durham

“Hibiscus in Durham.” Photograph by Sima Pendharkar 2011.

Yesterday the sun rose

And so it came to fall

The birds that were chirping

Eventually went to rest

The crashing tides,

Melted into the earth’s stuff

And so it goes

The timeless cycle of nature

Here one minute,

But then gone the next,

Ever present

We find ourselves entrenched in the truth,

But A jewel of knowing

Infinite wisdom

Covers us in a blanket

Like the starry night sky

Enveloping us in warmth

A guiding light

Infinite possibility,

As such, we come to know

The Room Upstairs

Highway

“Highways.” Pastel/Color Pencil Sketch by Sima Pendharkar 2012.

The Room Upstairs is a place that fills me with such delight.  The Room Upstairs is a place that I can go sometimes at night.  Or other times when I’m not feeling just right.

The sunlight trickles in majestically, and there are things big and small that usually grow.  Just what, Oh I do not claim to know.

And on some days when the bitter wind, burnishing my being, hits me in ways that send me railing, I can take shelter in The Room Upstairs.

Picking up the pieces, feeding upon the light, the love the unending hope and wisdom.  An evolving door of sorts, to be entered in an infinite time, place and space.  But only at your own pace.

A sparrow’s regeneration through flowing crystal drops, a child’s unfolding in the warm grains on a quiet afternoon, a woman’s delighting in songs that infiltrate the warm summer air, feeling all the while.

Do you have a Room Upstairs?  The Room Upstairs is a place for the young and the old, for the furry and the bold.  It is a place where the heart can unravel and unrest, meanwhile the soul and All will manifest.

So tell me, what are the contents that you choose to keep in that place and space,                                                                                                           Where you ever so often grace.

In that room of yours, The Room Upstairs?

Starry Sky Night

And when the stars come out

In the middle of the night

What are the colors

Swimming through your dreams

Are they bright?  Are they just right?  Do they glow…

And make your heart grow

Helping you know

Just where you should go?

For the promise of tomorrow

Rests happily in the whispering winds, within the turning tides

The sleepy sun, the meandering meadows

And all that is within our reach

In the here and now in this time

Is in This Time

the treasured Moment.

Stew

When I turned the light on and appeared

There you sat, a wounded mess

Steeped in your stuff and madness,

Stewing in your ephemeral haze,

That’s the way you went

The direction it seems, had been chosen

Or that is what you told you

If only you would have known

That over the billowing hills,

Just up the way

A field of sunshine lay

Open just about every day

But only to those

With the truest wishes, the most simple desires

To believers just Believers

These are the things that I learned

From the earth and sky

But since you can’t get by

I leave you here hoping someday you will fly

For now, Stew away in your stuff and mess

But as for me, I’m going so bye.

Me

“Ocean and Sky.” Acrylic Painting by Sima Pendharkar 2011.

My legs are strong.  My arms are smooth.  What was once unsure can now stand through the test of time.  We step ahead.  We step back.  What keeps us going?  I don’t have the answers.  I hum to my favorite song as I speed down the highway.  I like speed.  I giggle.  I cry.  Who is doing that.  Warm, burning feeling down my throat.  I twist and turn, moving without rhythm to the beats that I cannot hear.  I rest awake, staring into nothing.  Who knows what the new day will bring.

Welcome

photo

“Welcome to the World Amani.” Acrylic Painting by Sima Pendharkar 2008. (Painting/Poem written for my niece’s birth)

little Star,

may you tread lightly

with the Sun always hitting your Heart

may you hold your head high

and allow Mother Earth’s

eternal Love, peace, Happiness and kindness

to move your  beautiful spirit

so that it may roam the earth in discovery

free, uninhibited, with purpose and joy
